What's better than Christmas?
Free Comic Book Day, that's what! This is one of my favorite holidays of the year, and YES, it is most definitely a holiday. Every year I look forward to the first Saturday of May. =] I have been participating in FCBD, every year since 2002. It gets bigger and better each year. For those that do not know what Free Comic Book Day is, I shall enlighten you. Free Comic Book Day, is a day to celebrate comics! Anyone that stops by a comic book store on the first Saturday of may, scores free comics! Each store has different comic limits, and some times you get extra for coming in costume, or donating canned goods. It's just an awesome day to get out, meet fans, artists, shop owners, and learn about comics. =]
This year I stopped at 6 comic stores, and got a total of 34 comics. Several of the stores had local comic book artists, and I got to meet a few of them. Even scored some autographs. <3

ReplyDeleteYou're most welcome. =] It's a really fun day to participate in. Lots of kids and employees dress in costume, and some stores have raffles and activities for the kids. The larger stores have artists, creators, and local comic book writers there as well. They have things to sell, swag to pass out, and you get to meet lots of great people.
